CASE STUDY:

Concrete Gutter Repair

The side of these concrete steps has a sidewalk gutter system to transport water from the yard and sidewalk away from the house. This gutter had cracked and sunk into the ground resulting in the water running straight under the steps into the foundation (which is never good to have water under your foundation). To replace this, we removed the old sunken concrete and created a new patched concrete gutter along the stairs to continuously flow out to the street. Sadly, no before pictures were taken but the previous gutter was in pieces and recessed under the stairs.

“Quick Quote!”

This was affecting drainage from the backyard and was even washing away some of the yard itself. There was concern that the water could seep under the steps into the foundation of the house. With an old house like this, your worst enemy is water near your foundation. With the replacement though, there have been many rainfalls and it has worked great to keep the flow of water where it should be. With minimal cleanup once in a while, this is a definite improvement to the previous sidewalk gutter.
